Scratch is a programming language and an online community where anyone can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world. As learners create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Scratch is used in more than 150 different countries and available in more than 40 languages.
The students will learn develop basic concepts of computational thinking through game development. This approach brings in the “fun” element in to the learning, and this greatly motivates the young ones. Some of the games that they will learn to develop include: 1. Animate Your Name 2. Make It Fly 3. Make Music 4. Race to the Finish 5. Pong Game 6. Catch Game 7. Hide-and-Seek Game 8. Virtual Pet Through these applications, the students will learn a lot of fundamentals associated with computing that they can immediately apply to enhance their work and play. All these applications will be developed online without the need for any software installation.
